In September, the sea changes its rhythm without losing any of its energy.
Days on the beach alternate with the first cooler evenings, the resorts become more peaceful, and local festivals, traditions and regional flavours take centre stage once again.
Between Bibione and Caorle, the end of summer becomes the perfect opportunity to discover another side of the Venetian coast: one shaped by local communities, traditional celebrations and a cuisine that reflects the close connection between the sea, the lagoon and the countryside.
Because September is not just the last month of summer. It is also one of the most enjoyable times to savour the local area.
In September, Bibione still retains the atmosphere of a seaside resort, but at a more relaxed pace.
It is the season of the last beach days, evening strolls and events that symbolically accompany summer towards its conclusion.
Among them, the Septemberfest returns on 9 and 10 September 2026. Now in its 41st edition, the grape and wine festival is one of Bibione’s most eagerly awaited late-summer events.
Two days of celebration and conviviality featuring food and wine stands, entertainment and shows that enliven the resort and offer yet another reason to enjoy the seaside in September. After a day spent on the beach, the festivities continue through the streets of Bibione, providing one last taste of the summer atmosphere.
In Caorle, the connection with the sea is visible everywhere.
In the harbour, in the fishermen’s boats, in the lagoon’s traditional fishing huts and, naturally, in the local cuisine. Strolling through the narrow streets of the historic centre, you can still feel the identity of an ancient fishing town where seafood has always been at the heart of the table.
September is an especially pleasant time to discover its flavours: temperatures become milder, the town centre can be enjoyed at a slower pace and a seafood dinner can turn into a truly memorable travel experience.
The cuisine of this part of the Venetian coast is born from the meeting of sea, lagoon and land: fish and seafood, polenta, local farm products and regional wines tell the story of a simple gastronomic tradition deeply rooted in its surroundings.
And just a few kilometres inland, you will find rural landscapes, wineries and products that showcase the area’s agricultural heritage. A holiday between Bibione and Caorle can therefore become a journey through flavours: from a beachfront lunch to a seafood dinner, and even a wine tasting experience in the countryside.
Traditional festivals offer something that large-scale events rarely manage to recreate: they tell the story of a destination through the people who live there all year round.
Music, food stalls, local markets and events linked to regional traditions become opportunities to spend a different kind of evening and discover the most authentic side of these destinations.
In September, it takes very little: follow the sound of music coming from a square, stop at a market stall or try a dish you have never tasted before.
This is also one of the great pleasures of a late-summer holiday: having more time to be pleasantly surprised.
